· You've taken great notes...
· Studied until you fell asleep at your desk...
· Participated in online (or in-person) class discussions...
· And your dog never ate your homework...
But you just can't seem to make the grade.
What can you do?
It's as simple as A.S.K.
A. APPROACH
Approach your teacher and solicit their input. I know, you would rather crawl into a dark hole than let your friends see you meeting with your teacher. But did you know that your teacher actually cares about your success? And they would be overjoyed to know that you do too. Your teacher really wants to help you get that great grade.
S. SHOW
Show interest, initiative and the willingness to go the extra mile. You can do this by asking for an extra assignment to show that you are willing to earn the higher mark.
K. KEEP
Keep your word. In other words, don't be a flake.
If you accept the assignment or advice and agree to a timeframe, keep your word and deliver on time...early is even better. Keeping your word proves initiative, commitment and that caring we were talking about...
And when you do this, your teacher will reward you with that extra boost in your grade. Before you know it, you'll be on your way to a higher GPA and a great College or University.
And the BONUS to this approach is that you will likely gain a great mentor who, by the way, will likely write an amazing college recommendation letter for you, which you are going to need.
So just A.S.K.
